The baggie book take home program launches at Hanover-Horton Elementary. This was started by a group of retired Reading Recovery teachers in Jackson County that wanted to increase reading opportunities at home. The teachers matched paper books by reading level and created a quick tip sheet to help with reading at the different levels. Each classroom in first and second grades have been introduced to the baggie books. Students work at their own pace and are allowed to check the bags out and keep them until each book has been read twice.
