We all want the best for our children, success in school and life and for the child to be happy just to name a few. Education is a big key to help attain those goals. Hanover-Horton Schools created a web slide to share information with parents about the Title 1 Program. We will cover the following:
What is Title 1? Parent's Right to Know Parent's Right to be Involved Parent Activities
What is Title 1? Title 1 is the largest federal assistance program for our nation's schools. The goal of Title 1 is a higher quality of education for EVERY child. Hanover Horton Elementary and Middle Schools are Title 1 schoolwide buildings. Each school has a school improvement team that develops goals for the year and helps create the yearly budget. Our goal for the 2021-22 school year is to decrease the number of students needing an IRIP Individual Reading Improvement Plan by 10% by the end of the school year.
2021-22 Title 1 funds provides RTI (teacher salary) and money to purchase additional materials like the baggie books, online learning subscription fees and RAZ kids subscription
Parent's Right to Know Title 1 law requires that schools and families work together. How we work together is listed in our:
Parent Engagement Policy- work with school staff to write annual policy
Parent's Right to be Involved Your engagement is KEY to your child's success. You are your child's first teacher. You have the ability to influence your child's education. Volunteer to help in the classroom, send items to school, or read with a child in the room. If you cannot do these things, help your child with homework and keep in contact with your child's teacher. Click here for a few helpful tips for reading with your child.
